The experience of the most silent and settled state of mind, Pure Consciousness, develops the total brain and eliminates accumulated stress and fatigue
This provides the basis for increased intelligence, creativity and improvements in all areas of health. When we feel happier and healthier within ourselves, then naturally our behaviour towards others and to ourselves improves. More alertness along with calmness of body and mind means that our ability to appreciate and evaluate our environment is enhanced leading to more appreciation, tolerance and life-supporting behaviour. Relationships become more harmonious as we grow in peace and fulfilment within ourselves.
Comprehensive analyses on various types of meditations have clearly shown that TM produces highly beneficial effects such as marked reductions in high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, insomnia and other stress-related disorders which are not produced by other meditation techniques.
Stress & Anxiety
The deep relaxation in Transcendental Meditation dissolves deep-rooted stress and makes us more resilient to stress, A recent study of 300 students at the American University in Washington found that anxiety and depression significantly reduced after a few months of practice of TM and the students were more able to cope with the challenges of university life.
Health & Well Being
The deep rest gained during TM switches on the body’s self-repair ability and is very effective for improving overall health. Scientific studies verify that regular Transcendental Meditation practice decreases risk of heart attack and stroke, slows biological ageing, lowers high blood pressure, and much more.
Creativity
Transcendental Meditation is a technique for turning the attention inward, to experience the unbounded ocean of creativity and intelligence that lies within ones own inner Self. Artists, writers and musicians who practice TM often report that this expansion of mind and reduction of stress helps provide them with a constant flow of creativity, imagination and inspiration.
Self Development
The silent, inner wakefulness experienced during Transcendental Meditation is the experience of one's own inner Self. This experience results in greater happiness and creativity, improved confidence, and an increased sense of self-worth.
After learning how to meditate, people commonly report feeling more energetic and motivated, as well has having a more positive outlook on life in general.
In The Classroom
The deep relaxation in Transcendental Meditation dissolves deep-rooted stress and makes us more resilient to stress, A recent study of 300 students at the American University in Washington found that anxiety and depression significantly reduced after a few months of practice of TM and the students were more able to cope with the challenges of university life.
Improved Brain Functioning
Transcendental Meditation produces a state of scientifically measurable "global brainwave coherence," where the whole brain functions together, in concert - as a whole greater than the sum of its parts. High brainwave coherence is a trait seen in top-level managers and high-performance athletes, and promotes higher IQ, emotional stability and moral reasoning, as well as decreased anxiety.
Relationships
Not surprisingly, as our own health and happiness grows, our relationships also become more harmonious and fulfilling. After learning Transcendental Meditation at our Sydney centre, people often report warmer relationships amongst friends, family and co-workers.
Society & Peace
Several peer-reviewed, published scientific studies have now shown that when a significant portion of a population is practicing Transcendental Meditation, there is a measurable influence of peace throughout that society. This is seen in decreased crime, war, and other social violence.

TM is completely effortless. Other systems generally involve either concentration (which means effort) or contemplation (thinking about something). Once you have learnt TM from one of our qualified instructors you will know how to start the process and the mind will naturally experience deep rest and inner peace.
